Maple Praline Chicken

Another WINNER from our Gooseberry Patch Slow Cooker Recipes! I thought that the Cajun seasoning might make it a little too spicy for the kids but they loved it, probably because it's a touch sweet, too. For more excellent slow cooker recipes, check out Sandra's Slow Cookin' Thursday!

Maple Praline Chicken

6 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
2 Tbsp. Cajun seasoning
1/4 cup butter, melted
1/2 c. maple syrup
2 Tbsp. brown sugar, packed
1 cup chopped pecans

Sprinkle chicken with Cajun seasoning. In a skillet over medium-high heat, cook chicken in butter until golden. Arrange chicken in a slow cooker. Mix together syrup, brown sugar and pecans; pour over chicken. Cover and cook on low setting for 6-8 hours. Yummy with wild rice!

What did your kids think of the nuts? It sounds really good as I'm about to put my crockpot meal together for today.

We tried it the other day! It was so yummy! I was worried about it being spicy, but the syrup really helped. I didn't do the nuts. We're not a nut lovin' family! Thanks for the recipe!
