Fun Idea #1

I don't know about you, but I am really missing Scribbit's Winter Bazaar. Not missing winter so much, just the Bazaar part. It was such a great source of fun ideas and recipes, but it also helped me to remember to share those cool ideas I come across on my blog. So for the next little while, (or at least when I remember), I'm going to try and share a tidbit of fun...a craft idea, a time-saving tip, or a random recipe once a week. No real structure and I'm not brave enough to host anything, but it's just a way to help me remember to pass the love along.

So for today, my fun idea comes from Ginger, a friend in my ward. Her husband travels for his job and for much of the past year, she has been a single mom of 5 kids. Seriously. I was over at her house this week and she shared a most excellent idea with me. Now, it probably won't apply to all of you, but it certainly is helping me and our little family.

My Sam flat out refuses to eat hot lunch. Refuses. So Tony or I end up getting all the stuff for his lunch out the night before and putting together a fun little lunch for him. Ginger does the same thing and although she only has 2 kids in school, she makes a sack lunch for ALL OF HER KIDS. I mean, you have all the stuff out anyway. It is no harder to pull a couple more lunches together. So the next day at lunch, she just pulls the lunches out for her kids that are still at home and she's set. I love this idea because you have a chance to better plan lunch without a hungry kid breathing down your neck, the kids don't have to all eat at the exact same time, AND Anna thinks it's pretty cool to eat out of a lunch sack...even things she would normally complain about. Good idea? Thanks, Ginger!

I love this idea! Anna would think it cool to eat the same lunch that Sam is eating at school.
Easy and convenient, and like all
really clever ideas, brilliant.

That is a great idea! Even just doing lunches the night before for stay at home kids is good. Why didn't I think of that.....

This is such a great idea. The other day, 2 of my kids took a sack lunch to school. Jake (3 years old) wanted a sack lunch, too. We found him a lunch box, made him a cold lunch, and at noon, he had a picnic in the family room. He absolutely LOVED it! He thought he was all that!

That is great idea, it would probably reduce the number of times we end up hitting the drive thru b/c we could just grab our lunches on our way out the door. Thanks for sharing, I will definitely be checking for these little tips!!

Missing it? Well thanks! Last summer I ran activities for kids each Wednesday and I think I'll be doing that again, but I don't know about the Mr. Linky thing. Maybe . . . :)

I make lunches every morning for my 5 school kids and my husband, as well. So while I'm at it, I make one for myself, too!! I tend to eat healthier that way, since I'm feeding them a healthy lunch.

Reid's cholesterol is absolutley perfect since I started making him lunch, and we're both losing weight!

I hate making lunches but I make one every morning for my husband. What a great idea! I could kill two birds with one stone and go ahead and get my kids lunches out of the way as well!

I have done this several times and it is always wonderful having it ready to pull out. And because it is already packed you can easily grab it to take to the park or on the road.

I need to start doing this every day.
