"Booed" Treats & Rockin' the Vote

We have the most awesome neighborhood...full of kids and the young at heart. Every year, we "boo" each other by leaving a ghost and goodies at neighbor doors and then hanging our ghost on our front door. I'm sure many of your neighborhoods do the same thing. Well, we got "booed" this week. So the kids and I (and Megs, who just happened to be up taking, and passing!!, her R.D. exam) made the cutest Nutter Butter ghosts to use to "boo" two of our neighbors. We just took Nutter Butter cookies, dipped them in melted almond bark and added mini chocolate chips for the eyes and mouth. We threw them in a cellophane bag and voila!

And lookie, lookie what came in the mail today. Although the new president will most likely be selected before the polls actually close in Alaska, I'll proudly cast my ballot anyway. Just my small but significant voice adding to the chaos of Election Day 2008. How blessed we are to live in a country where we get a say in the way we are governed!

Jason and I are going to vote next week! He'll be TDY on election day and IL is offering early voting. Yea! Much easier with him in tow to deal with Miss Priss and take turns! Your ghosts turned out so super cute. Our group of friends Boo's each year, too. It is so fun to do and to receive! I have to say it again girl...I want to be your neighbor!!! Alright, off to make your pumpkin fudge for our guests and my hubby tomorrow! xo, Les

Man I wish I was your neighbor! YUM! For other reasons too than just your tasty treats ...but if so, we would probably have some negleted kids and houses full of beautiful homemade crafts.

Awwww- those are CUTE! Wish I would have seen those before I went to the store this week!

We got a few mini pumpkins on our doorstep the other day with a note saying we'd been Halloweenied!

Guess what....the pumpkin fudge was a HIT! I made it last night and had 2 families over today for a fall family get-together. I put some in each of their take home goody baskets AND my hubby LOVED it! So do I, but my a** won't tomorrow when I try to fit it into my jeans!!! I think I ate a pound of it girl!!! ;) Happy rest of your weekend! Les

Oh these look so cute and yummy! I just did a blog on white bark and the creative things you can make. I had someone say they made these. I am going to make this for my daughter's party on the 1st.

I haven't got mine yet but I am voting for sure.

I've never heard of almond bark before, is that the same thing as white chocolate?
