Irish Blessing Pin

About a month ago I found this little bag of twelve wooden shamrock shapes at Hobby Lobby for $1.99. Since then, I've been brainstormig what exactly to do with them. I like to make pins for the ladies we visit teach in March...something cute because green can be SO unbecoming...even on St. Patrick's Day!!
Today I did a base coat of an avocado green and sanded and antiqued the shamrocks. When they were dry, I used the head of a pin to make dots in khaki, black and ivory in a little grouping of three all over the green shamrock.
Then I tied on a little gingham ribbon, glued a pin back on, and added it to a notecard with one of a whole collection of Irish blessings I found here.

I think I might make some more for my girlfriends with March birthdays...

Oh my heavens... I am feeling the need to kick my visiting teaching up a notch... With my crazy life and morning sickness this past couple of months I have been a less than ideal visiting teacher. Thanks for the inspiration -- these turned out adorable!

Amber,
I love how those turned out! You have a great knack for being able to look at something normal and plain and to turn it into something fantastic and fun!
The ladies will be honored to receive these. Plus, it will keep them safe from pinching on the 17th!!! ;)
Hugs, Les

These are so sweet and I like how you attached them to a card with an Irish blessing.
