Pinewood Derby

Sam participated in his first Pinewood Derby last night!! He has taken to Cub Scouts in a huge way... Scouting was invented for kids like Sam.

Sam decided that he wanted to do a cheetah car (surprise, surprise) and he and Tony spent several weekends cutting, sanding and painting his little car to look like a sleek, dangerously fast cheetah.

I pretty much just stayed out of their way...except for supplying the paint and giving a few pointers on painting the cheetah spots.

Although he didn't win any races, Sam had a great time and is already formulating a plan for next year's car...I think I overheard at breakfast something about a Great White shark...

Way to go, Sam!

Have you ever watched that Pinewood Derby movie? It's pretty funny. I can't wait for Luke to be in scouts. He will LOVE it too. I have a feeling Mike is going to have to be scout master for many years since we will be a good portion of the pack. ( =

Yay, Sam! What a great car! My Will (Hockey Boy) has always loved cheetahs too. He's going to wish he'd thought of doing a Cheetah Car back in his Pinewood Derby days! We still have all the cars that he and his dad made for those fun events.
