Heartfelt Felt

Last week I was in Jo-Ann Fabrics and happened upon their aisle of craft stuff for kids. And they had this huge tower of felt squares...many colors I had never even seen before and some mottled ones as well. So I snagged all of the ones I found really cute and added them to my felt stash at home. But my wheels were already turning and the awesome squash orange and mottled grey felt turned into this cute little hanging pillow for Fall.

And just because I loved the way the felt was so easy to work with and forgiving, I made two little apple ornaments: one for each of the kids' teachers this year.

A cute shape, a little Heat-N-Bond, some cheap-o felt, some homespun for the backing and a bit of ribbon...the possibilities are endless!

yeah, the possibilities are endless for someone who can see the vision and then actually sew the vision and mostly find time with 3 kids . . . i don't know how you do it!

Hey I am a substitute teacher...is that good enough to get on your list? :-)

Did you use a pattern from somewhere? I can not freehand to save my life. Those colors are perfect!

I would also like to place an order on the cute squash pillow. That is amazing that you just thought that up and made it. They all turned out wonderful. Their teachers will love the apple pillows!

Perfect, I'm taking a break from unpacking my sewing stuff and come upon this cute project. Thanks for the motivation to get all my sewing stuff together.

So creative! I love this kind of stuff, and yet I'm totally petrified to even try, since past projects have not turned out too well... It's always nice to live vicariously through more creative friends though! :o)

SOOO CUTE! Yay for crafty updates! I'm starting to get back into crocheting after taking the summer off. Got a few friends who will need baby gifts, and a blanket to finish for another friend.

You're so good, you've already made a fall decoration and two ornaments no less! They look great, I'm sure the teachers will appreciate them.
