We Are Thankful For Our Hands

I have arguably the best calling in the whole church. I get to teach the Sunbeams (3-year-olds). They are so darling and I love how I get to teach the very basics of the gospel...it helps me to remember the many blessings I have been given. Take for example: last week we were thankful for our hands. Something we rarely think about...but try picking a penny off the ground with no thumbs!! And because it was so close to Mother's Day (on Mother's Day Sunday, the guys took our classes) I took painted handprints on muslin of all my Sunbeams, added their names and age with Doodlebug rub-ons, framed them in a simple, inexpensive black frames and added a homespun ribbon and this poem:

Sometimes you get discouraged
Because I am so small,
And always leave my fingerprints
on furniture and walls.

But everyday I grow a bit
And soon I'll be so tall,
That all those little fingerprints
Will be hard to recall.

So here's a special handprint
So that you can say,
This is how my fingers looked
When I placed them here today.

I am thankful for my hands...and my Sunbeams!!

So fun... I love those frames and I'm sure the moms did too. I get to teach the 4 year olds. 7 boys and 2 girls. It's pretty crazy, but I love teaching these sweet little spirits too!! (A big change from enrichment huh???)

Hi Amber! Woke up to check on Daren and now can't go back to sleep. I've been thinking of you and wanted to pop over and check in.

Glad I did!

Tony's HOME!!! Hooray, hooray, hooray! All's right with the world. So glad he's back - right where he belongs. Tyler and I have such respect for him. Please pass along our love.

I agree - Primary is where it's AT. Those Sunbeams hit the jackpot when they got you for their teacher. I can see you feel the same way about them. Lucky, lucky kiddos.

Your trip to Disney World looked like a dream. So glad you had such a marvelous time. We LOVE Disney World. It's so fun to watch your children be taken in by the magic (and get taken in a bit yourself).

I am really, really sorry to hear about your dad, Amber. I hope things will be well with him, and that you and your family can be comforted and helped during this time. We'll keep him (and you) in our prayers. I am just so sorry.

Sending lots of love to the McIlleces ...
