Still On A Nerve Block High

Hey out there! Although it is taking me what feels like hours to write this post, I feel strangely coherent. In fact, I think I could still probably beat Tony at Jeopardy with one hand..., well..., lashed to the side of my body with a huge sling. My latest round of painkillers and anti-nausea meds haven't kicked in and I've slept most of the afternoon away.

The surgery went well. But the best part is that they decided to give me a nerve block, which really means that they stick a needle in your neck and then shoot electric pulses down your arm to see if they have the right spot causing your arm to constrict painfully and uncontrollably. Seriously?? But it was short-lived, the OR guys were great and the best part was waking up and being utterly and completely numb. And 10 hours later, I still don't feel much pain. Hooray for that. It did NOT, however, prevent me for puking all over the recovery room. Yikes.

But ask me about the pain thing again in the morning.
