Have any of you seen the cute commercial with the mommy making rice crispy Easter eggs with her kids filled with M&Ms? Tony and I saw it together one night and we looked at each other and said, "Hey! What a great idea! We could do this with the kids!"
So we took a little bit of warm rice crispy mixture and lined some plastic Easter eggs with it. (Just a piece of advice from us professionals...use lots of butter on your hands. Lots.) Then we made a little indentation in the center of each egg half and filled it up with M&Ms and put the egg halves back together. We put them in a cup to hold the shape until the rice crispy mixture cooled. And voila! Darling. The kids had a blast and they were a delicious FHE treat.
Of course you could use smaller eggs, but why would you when you can use big, giant camouflage Easter eggs??

So cute!! The girls would love this. FHE here we come!!!
very cute!!! they may even fool emily into forgetting that it's cereal and get her to try rice crispies!
Yes - love the commercial and last year the commercial was just egg-shaped rice crispy treats...so I made those. When I saw the commercial with the m&m's, I thought - I'm so going to make them! Haven't done it yet, but maybe for Samantha's pre-school or for her b-day, which IS on Easter this year. Thanks for the butter tip! ;)
Glad to hear from a "real" mom (like that t.v. woman is that cute kid's mom, lol) that this worked, b/c we plan on doing it as part of our FHE tomorrow night...sans the m&m's b/c WalMart was OUT of Easter m&m's (except PB, which is my favorite, but a bit too big for this project!)
Thanks for sharing.
I love this idea! I know I am too late for EAster, but rice crispy treat of any kind are good anytime....
