Something Wicked This Way Comes

After MUCH anticipation, last night a group of friends, Megan and I went to see Wicked at the Orpheum in downtown Omaha! I've read the book. I knew the story. I was familiar with the music. But nothing can really prepare you for the entire experience!

We all met and drove together (thank goodness for mini-vans, thanks Janene!) to dinner and then headed downtown for the show. It is always so fun to get together with girlfriends, and with some of us moving this summer, it really made me realize how much I love these girls and how much I will miss them.

Once we got downtown and parked, we snapped a picture of the ones in our group who wore red shoes in honor of the night (mine are at the bottom).

The Orpheum is absolutely beautiful! We had seats up in the balcony, but at such a great angle that we had no problem both seeing and hearing everything. The place was packed and I spent all intermission trying to figure out a way to talk Tony into bringing me back for another performance before the National Touring Company leaves at the end of the month...

If you ever get a chance to see Wicked, go. It is a wonderful story of friendship, the good and hard things about being different, and becoming a better person set to incredible music, fantastic costumes and filled with hilarity and moments of tears. Five stars from me!

It was so much fun! The only problem is that now I don't have anything to look forward to in the next couple of months. I guess I will have to find something. :0)

Went to Wicked last month and have been dying to go every day ever since. It was such an incredible play and I loved every single minute--I didn't want it to end! I'm so happy you got to go--we will have much to talk about (or sing about) when we see each other this summer. :)

I"m jealous of the girl time and the show. WE haven't been to a show in FOREVER. I miss our once a year musicals (Travis is a good sport).

I've heard good things about this from everyone that's ever seen it... and I'm so excited that I will get to see it this summer when it is playing in Tulsa!

Love the red shoes. =)

We just saw WICKED in NYC and LOVED every minute of it. I knew the music, too, but you are right, nothing can really prepare you for the experience! I am so glad you got to go and that you had a fabulous time and that you wore red shoes. Very fitting.

Now you know what it's like to be a grandparent--except for the comment on the looks of your grandchild.
